![]() ![]() I believe Rue has the best damage potential in the game, with Penetration Shot and her passive allowing her to do 4 damage to enemies in a line, twice, as long as she doesn't move (not counting dashes - meaning you can pull off chains of Attack -> Dash -> Attack). Maybe I'm off base, but cutting the demo 10 minutes shorter or thinking harder about the bosses you included would have made you a sale in my case.Completed my first Hard run after I unlocked every character which went well with a squad of Rue (Double Shot Marksman), Darby (Stealth Assassin), Sorine (Electro Mage as mentioned above), and Lamber (Ox pet that can swap positions with enemies). Then I hit the boss and it was a clear case of "screw you for trying to sight read, bring the right characters or screw off", which tells me that the game is either planning on either padding game time by giving every boss abilities you need to know ahead of time to counteract, or going to be introducing mandatory meta-progression to force grinding out runs to earn enough kumquats, or whatever ridiculous meta-currencies you choose, to earn the spatula of tossing or whatnot needed to chump the bosses. I'm a big fan of Into the Breach which this clearly takes a lot of inspiration, and the shade mechanic, while confusing some times due it being unclear as to when an ally's ability will prevent the creation of a shade, is interesting. I got up to the boss that tossing dynamite over the map and the game went from certainly on my wishlist to a maybe at best. ![]()
